About LNG

LNG is the acronym for Liquefied Natural Gas. LNG is predominantly methane, which has been cooled sufficiently to a temperature of -161° C, at atmospheric pressure, changing its state from gas into liquid that is 1/600th of its original volume. This dramatic reduction allows it to be shipped safely and efficiently aboard in specially designed LNG vessels.
LNG is odourless, colourless, non-corrosive, non-toxic, non-flammable and non-explosive. Studies show in 2021 emission of 53% of Particulate Matter (PM)(53000 tonnes), 1.6 tonnes of Nox and 34% of CO2 from medium and heavy trucks.
Natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel.
